Building a Plant-Based Future, One Campus at a Time
A recap of our two days at the 2026 Food For Thought Festival at Stanford University
This past weekend, our team had the privilege of attending the 2026 Food For Thought Festival at Stanford University's Tresidder Oak Lounge in Palo Alto, California. Organized by Food 4 Thought Innovations and led by CEO Navin Durbhakula, the two-day event brought together approximately 300 attendees from across the globe — students, academics, industry leaders, and policymakers — all united by a shared mission: to reimagine the future of our food system.
A Meaningful Partnership with Loving Hut
We were especially proud to attend alongside our friends at Loving Hut — one of the world's largest vegan restaurant chains. Together, we represented the breadth and depth of the plant-based movement: from ready-to-eat restaurant experiences to retail and foodservice products that make plant-based eating accessible every day. The synergy between our two brands felt natural, and the conversations we had together with attendees were rich and inspiring.
Connecting with the Next Generation
Perhaps the most energizing part of the festival was the conversations we had with student representatives from universities across the U.S. and beyond. These students are not just consumers — they are advocates, decision-makers, and future campus dining leaders. Many expressed a strong desire for more diverse and authentic plant-based options in their dining halls, and were eager to understand how brands like BeLeaf can work directly with campus food programs.
This is exactly the kind of connection we came here to make. Campus dining represents one of the most impactful channels for plant-based food adoption — when students eat plant-based regularly, those habits carry forward into their lives and communities.
What's next for BeLeaf on campus
The relationships we built at Food For Thought are just the beginning. We're actively working to expand our presence in university dining programs — bringing our plant-based shrimp, salmon, hot dogs, and jerky to cafeterias and dining halls that are ready to offer students something better.
If you're a campus dining director, sustainability coordinator, or student food advocate — we'd love to connect. Reach out to us at info@beleafvegan.com.
